Dear Youth Pastor/Youth Leaders:
We are excited to announce that this year’s ABY Gathering will be November 8-10th at the First Baptist Church of Mattoon. The theme of our weekend will be, “Seen, Heard, Known.” Online registration is now open, using the link at the bottom of the page. The cost to attend the event is $50 for students and $35 for adult leaders. Within this packet you will find the schedule of events, a waiver and other information that will be important in planning your youth group’s trip to The Gathering (feel free to make copies for your students). There is also a student application form for students interested in interviewing to be on the board. We ask that student’s be a freshman, sophomore or a junior in order to apply. Interviews will take place on Saturday of the event.
The Gathering board has secured lodging at Camp New Hope. It is about a 15 minute drive from the church. The cost, per person, to stay at the campground is $50. This is in addition to the conference fee. Please indicate on the registration link if you will be lodging at the campground. There will be roughly 30 spots available at the campground.
We are pleased to announce that this year’s speaker is Rev. Natasha Adzudzor. Natasha is the Minister of Discipleship at Central Baptist Church of St. Louis, Missouri. She currently serves on the Pan African Koinonia Steering Committee and on the leadership team for the Baptist Women in Ministry. We are excited to have Natasha as our speaker this year!
We will have break-out groups scheduled for the event. Break-out groups will be geared towards junior high/middle school and high school. We will also have mission opportunities for your students to serve the local community. We are looking forward to this time to grow in faith and learn together.
